This is Graham’s story
Graham was rescued recently - battered and bruised, and just in time.
After a horrendous fall on a so called “safe track” in Victoria earlier this year Graham was then sent to Tasmania. No longer able to race. No longer useful to the industry, like so many others.
Out of sight out of mind.
Despite receiving only a 21 day stand down period for a bad fall, he still walks with a limp, had open wounds, and shows signs of severe trauma and anxiety.
Graham will live with his scars forever.
After rescuers negotiated his safe return, he is now back in Victoria in a loving forever home, receiving a long program of rehabilitation and ongoing professional veterinary care.
But not only that, remarkably he is also in a home with his biological mother who waited four long years to be reunited with him.
With his human mother by his side too, he has everyone in his corner and his future will be filled with nothing but love.
This is exactly how all dogs should be treated.
But there are so many that are not as lucky as Graham that need our help.
This story of kindness from the community, comes as news breaks showing trainers in South Australia brutally abusing greyhounds, and horrendous conditions in Tasmania, the same greyhounds race here in Victoria too.
Graham is gentle, loving, and sweet natured.
Graham’s new family had to teach him how to dog, and to be loved.
He had never been on a couch, walked on a lead, had toys or treats or experienced love. He was scared of every single noise.
We want to know what really happened to Graham.
And importantly, we don’t want it to happen to anymore dogs.
